Aladdin
The historic Aladdin Holiday Inn Hotel re-opened this year and is located in the heart of the Kansas City downtown convention, business, financial, and entertainment districts.
Originally built in 1925, it was considered one of the most luxurious hotels and the tallest building in Kansas City. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Aladdin Holiday Inn Hotel underwent an extensive historic restoration to re-open as a boutique hotel with 193 guest rooms, private function space to accommodate up to 225 people, a mezzanine martini bar, and the Zebra Room full service restaurant. The restoration brought back the original art deco ambiance with a vintage hip approach for a fresh look at yesterday.
Vegelahn contractors and Hoffman Cortes was worked together to restore the hotel. Since the exterior of the hotel had more decorative pieces than functional pieces it was a real challenge restoring the building back to its original. Seasoned tradesmen in the exterior helped to restore the exterior façade by making molds to replace the defective items.
