Scott Moffitt is senior vice president and director of operations of Hoffman Cortes, a full-service general contracting company established in 1921 that provides complete commercial construction services across multiple industries throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.

He also is part of the three-person executive Hoffman Cortes management team led by Rita Cortes, president, and includes Chuck Scammell, president, Hoffman Cortes Restoration, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

Moffitt joined the company in 1997 as a project manager. In November 2006, he was named vice president and director of operations.  As such, Moffitt oversaw all field operations, personnel and safety programming/training, and the estimating and project management staff. In August 2007, Moffitt was promoted to senior vice president. 

In addition, he continues to serve as a project manager/estimator responsible for field coordination, design review, estimating, scheduling, sub-contract negotiations, material purchasing, and management/client contract and negotiations.

Moffitt has experience in both design-build and plan and spec construction on a wide array of project types including office buildings, warehousing, retail, service centers, tenant finish, adaptive reuse, and remodel. 

Moffitt has been responsible for numerous projects constructed by Hoffman Cortes, including a complete demolition and build back of an office building into a general practice doctor’s office for Leawood Family Care; the complete restoration of UMB Bank, a 14-story office building located in downtown, Kansas City, Mo.; multiple tenant finishes in Corporate Woods Office Park in Overland Park, Kan.; an adaptive reuse renovation project of the former Arrow Truck Sales into high-end corporate offices; and the complete restoration of the three-story, 1600 Baltimore in loft-type offices in the Crossroads District.

Prior to joining Hoffman Cortes, Moffitt worked extensively in healthcare construction.
