Nelson-Atkins
Renovation and restoration of the Kansas City Sculpture Park at the Nelson-Atkins Museum occurred alongside the construction of the new Bloch Building completed in 2007. Hoffman Cortes performed the restoration work on the plaza area, zipper walkway and steps, where the original black granite had cracked and fallen apart. Hoffman Cortes and Carthage Marble partnered to find and install pieces that matched the original granite in order to recreate the plaza area and walkways.  Our depth and specialized expertise in masonry restoration made a deteriorating area look brand new.
